Eating used to be a family event. Everyone used to sit around the dining room table and eat a home cooked meal at least twice a day.
Today everyone is in such rush to get from one place to the next that meals usually consist of fast food, takeout, or a quick snack to go.
As I was scrolling through Pinterest I came across these comics that help depict how fast food is deteriorating our health.
In the picture to the right Snow White is depicted as a girl in todays society. After consuming too much fast food for a long period of time she has developed diabetes. This shows how the consumption of too much fast food can rapidly change someones health and life.
In the next picture to the left you see the Grim Reaper handing a heavier set man a burger. The man is asking "What? No fries?". This is showing that even though the burger is bad enough for him he still wants more. That today as a society we are not seeing the health risk of consuming fast greasy food and that consuming a burger could potentially cost you your life one day.
This next picture below depicts the story of the evil witch who made a house of candy for two young kids, Hansel and Gretel. The witch trapped Hansel and Gretel in the house and forced them to eat nothing but the candy. When they got heavy enough the witch tried to cook them and eat them. This pictures shows that the fast food chains of todays society are just like the evil witch and that the fast food traps todays population and eventually will risk their health or even life.
All of these comics visualize how fast food effects us today. So why do we continue eating at them? Why has todays society gone away from old traditions, like home cooked family meals? These are questions that all need to be asked. Listen to that carrot below, fast food is really just no good for you.
Plain and simple. I like how you included more than one example, and they all say the same idea; Fast food is not good. The last part with the carrot summing it up made me giggle because it really is that simple. Are there no healthy fast foods?
ReplyDeleteEngaging comics you've included here. Well done.
